🌊 THE WAKA CARRIES ANCESTRAL WISDOM 🌊
An inspiring journey — you are warmly invited to join.
The Waka carries ancient ancestral knowledge, passed lovingly through generations.
To step aboard is to enter a living stream of remembrance, healing and resilience.
🌿 LIVING MĀORI ANCESTRAL TEACHINGS
My teachings are deeply rooted in Mātauranga Māori, woven through every workshop with:
✨ Chants & Karakia (prayer)
✨ Haka & embodied movement
✨ Storytelling & ancestral history
✨ Whakapapa — sacred lineage
These practices are not from the past — they live within us.
They guide healing, strengthen identity and awaken remembrance.
My journey reflects what it means to grow through the wisdom and strength of those who walked before me.
Hawaiki — the place of origin, the place of return.
🌺 HAWAIKI – A PRAYER IN SONG & DANCE
In this workshop, participants are guided through a moving prayer experience, expressed through song, rhythm and dance, shaped by Māori spiritual values.
This experience offers a gentle yet powerful introduction to Māori culture, carried by:
✨ The Divine Feminine
✨ Lightness, joy and play
✨ Awe, reverence and connection
It is an invitation to feel, remember and embody, rather than to analyse.

🌏 A LIFE OF SHARING & GATHERING WISDOM
Over many years, Whaea Hato has travelled throughout Aotearoa and the Pacific Islands, sharing and gathering cultural knowledge with her Pasifika relations.
These journeys deepened her Mātauranga Māori and affirmed her role as a keeper of ancestral wisdom.
As a Teacher and Cultural Advisor within her Kōhanga (Nest), she shared the teachings lovingly passed down by her elder parents. As the youngest child, she was immersed in ancestral knowledge from birth — forming the foundation of her life’s work.
🌿 HER MAHI TODAY
Today, Whaea Hato works as a Spiritual Counselor and Trainer within a Holistic Māori Social Services organization, specialising in Indigenous family and tribal healing.
Her mahi continues to take her across the country and internationally — uplifting others, strengthening cultural identity and supporting people to carry forward ancestral teachings in a good way.
✨ The Waka is ready.
✨ The ancestors are present.
