Over dit evenement
Take a break from your busy schedule and give yourself a full day to slow down, recharge, and reconnect – with yourself and with others.
This retreat is for all of you who are working, juggling daily responsibilities, and feel the need to pause. Maybe you’ve been feeling stressed, disconnected, or simply tired. This is your chance to step away from the noise and return to a calmer, more grounded place.
We’ll gather in a beautiful, light-filled space on Bosboom Toussaintstraat in Amsterdam – just around the corner from Vondelpark, nestled between Oud-Zuid and Oud-West. It’s a peaceful spot that feels like a hidden sanctuary in the city.
Throughout the day, you’ll experience:
Yoga (Vinyasa & Yin) to release tension and come back into your body
Breathwork (pranayama) to calm your mind and reset your energy
A cacao ceremony to open the heart and deepen connection
Sound healing to relax deeply and let go
You don’t need to be experienced in any of these practices. Just come as you are. This day is about slowing down, feeling more present, and sharing space with others in a kind and welcoming environment.
Ceremonial Cacao guided by Agata will give you an energy boost, sharpen your focus and warm up with a blanket of cozy and lovely feeling. You will be ready for what’s coming next at yoga class with Maryam.
She will guide you in a vinyasa and yin class with a focus on a gentle energizing. A slow building sequence centered around the breath to create energy, and encourage a meditative focus.
In the afternoon we will get intimate with our breath to induce a meditative and active state. We will observe, appreciate, and explore this fascinating miracle of life.
After this full day you will have a chance to integrate this whole day experience and rest through a sound healing with crystal bowls, Shruti box, chimes, drums and more.

THE FACILITATORS
Maryam Hassouni
Maryam’s very first experience with yoga was in 2011 in New York City at a humble place
called Yoga to the People. Through Pranayama, Vedic meditation, and asana practice, she
gained access to parts of herself she might never have been aware of otherwise. In a world where many people suffer from separation, exhaustion, and loneliness, Maryam views the practice of yoga as a form of activism; one in which we move against grind culture with love, awareness, and compassion.
It’s a practice that helps us reconnect with ourselves and with
each other. In her teachings, she creates a brave space where people can show up as their true, authentic selves. Maryam Hassouni is an Emmy Award-winning (retired) actress who worked for over two decades in film, television, and theatre. She is a certified Yoga and Pranayama teacher, as well as a coach. Maryam works with actors and people who are seeking to find the role that best suits them in the world today. She has written two books: a children’s book and a J’accuse addressing racism, sexism, and skewed power dynamics within the Dutch film industry.
