Over dit evenement
Do you want to connect to your innocent curiosity and creativity? Impulse Play is a non-verbal somatic and relational practice that creates a space for play and self-development. It is characterised by a structure that allows for a discovery of what feels good without a predetermined plan or goal. Move away from acting based on beliefs, thoughts, or judgements and into what is alive simply because it feels good.
To be comfortable in a context without expectations or goals is incredibly freeing, but let’s be fair: it’s not what we are used to in this society. My workshops provide a safe environment to experiment and practice to become ‘comfortable with discomfort’. I will teach you tools that will empower you to navigate the vulnerability of revealing your most authentic and pure you. Just like going on a roller coaster ride it requires some braveness, but it comes with a lot of fun!
Impulse Play can be practiced solo, in duos or in a group and provides an opportunity to get in touch with your primal nature. Being wild and energetic or slow and sensual. Being in harmony or in contrast. Being an observer or being observed. Through this workshop you’ll learn to attune both to your inner impulses and how to navigate expressing them consensually, without having to rely on words.
The workshop starts by exercises that help you to connect to yourself, your body and each other. Then, there will be rounds of play, in which you can choose to be a witness, solo-player or play with others. Sounds are welcome, but most of the workshop will be without words. There are a few dedicated moments to share your experience verbally.
This workshop is for you if you want to explore and expand your capacity for:
> Being yourself unapologetically in relation to others
> Attuning to your impulses and pleasure
> Leaving the chatter of the mind and dropping into the body
> Overcoming fear of being judged and being celebrated for all that you are
> Honouring your HELL YES’es and NO’s and those of others
<><> ABOUT YANA <><>
Yana guides like she lives: with dedication, curiosity and joy. In both her art and work, the freedom to experience, experiment and explore follows form a solid and intentional foundation. Her teachings are distilled from a wide array of lived experience and formal training that are based in paradigms from the West and from the East: she holds a BSc in Clinical Psychology, a MSc in Methodology and Statistics and is also trained in Yoga, Tantra and Taoism. She has been teaching since 2007, in varying fields. Yana loves the paradoxical nature of life, actively seeking contrasts and welcoming the beauty which underlies that which tends to be seen as 'ugly' or 'undesirable'. She bridges the subtle to the tangible: by giving pragmatic and practical tools that help you integrate thinking, feeling and being. Yana empowers you to overcome internalised judgements and live your most authentic expression, all while honouring your own pace.
