In een tijd waarin er zoveel gaande is, zoeken we hoop en verbinding. De Waakvlam is een initiatief waarin we samenkomen, in een cirkel, als mens, voor de mens. Tijdloos van aard en wellicht urgenter als ooit.

Over je host :
Sven Signe is als (levens)kunstenaar, pelgrim en dichter toegewijd aan het verrichten en het verspreiden van wat hij noemt het wandelen in liefde. Geïnspireerd door wijsheid-tradities, religies en dierbare leraren deelt hij zijn visie op hoe het leven in liefde te bewandelen middels reflecties, retraites of bijeenkomsten of in de vele artistieke uitingsvormen waarin hij zichzelf uitdrukt.

De Waakvlam (What are you going to do?)
We komen samen in een cirkel, rondom één brandende kaars, symboliseert voor Het Ene Licht, De Ene Liefde, De Ene mensheid, De Ene Aarde (of hoe je deze onderliggende verbinding ook graag wilt benoemen). Openen met een inspirerend gedicht/gebed, een begeleidde meditatie en vanuit daar een uur lang in stilte rondom de kaars zitten. Vervolgens een korte afrondende meditatie te delen alvorens mensen hun eigen weg gaan. Zonder in de woorden te gaan, zonder te prediken samen onszelf liefdevol aanwezig maken, in stilte, voor de vele plekken waar er zoveel onrust en onvrede is.

De titel ‘Waakvlam’ is geïnspireerd op het werk van Rumi:
“Ground yourself, strip yourself down,
To blind loving silence.
Stay there, until you see
You are gazing at the Light
With its own ageless eyes”

Describe briefly the urgency of your event. What makes it so important that your event takes place and what is the added value of your event?
In a time when so much is going on, we seek hope and connection. ‘De Waakvlam’ is an initiative in which we come together, in a circle, as humans, for humans. Timeless in nature and perhaps more urgent than ever.

About your host
As an artist, pilgrim and poet, Sven Signe is dedicated to sharing what he calls walking in love. Inspired by wisdom traditions, religions and dear teachers, he shares his vision on how to walk life in love through reflections, retreats or gatherings, or in the many artistic forms in which he expresses himself.

De Waakvlam (What are you going to do?)
We come together in a circle, around one burning candle, symbolising The One Light, The One Love, The One Humanity, The One Earth (or however you like to call this underlying connection). Opening with an inspiring poem/prayer, a guided meditation and from there sitting in silence around the candle for an hour. Then sharing a short concluding meditation before people go their own way. Without going into the words, without preaching, together we lovingly make ourselves present, in silence, for the many places where there is so much unrest and dissatisfaction.

The title ‘De Waakvlam’ is inspired by the work of Rumi:
