Welcome to the second iteration of the 'Cacao Dieta'. Hosting an online cacao 'dieta' has been a wish of mine for a long time and after a very beautiful first dieta in January, I'm ready to dive in even deeper with you. We have the honour of celebrating the summer/winter solstice, depending on your physical location towards the end of our journey together. A beautiful way to celebrate the changing of the seasons together with Mama Cacao.
The word "dieta" comes from Spanish and literally translates to "diet", however in this case I am not referring to the conventional use of the word. A 'dieta' refers to connecting with a sacred plant (daily) over an extended period of time with the aim of strengthening your relationship with the Spirit and essence of the plant. This journey is inspired by the dieta in the jungle that some of my dear medicine brothers and sisters have experienced. It is an incredible experience to go to the Amazon rainforest and sit with indigenous medicine men and women and spend weeks, sometimes months on end in isolation connecting with different master plants.
Since most of us live in the city or Western world this will be a so-called 'social diet', which means we connect with the plants while we continue our day-to-day service. The intention is to remove as many distractions from our daily life as possible (while keeping in mind that most of us will have jobs, businesses and/or families to tend to); such as social media, certain substances (alcohol, coffee, sugar, tobacco, drugs and other plant medicines etc.). I will also encourage you to take a break from certain relationships or perhaps there are other things that are taking up a lot of your physical/mental/emotional/spiritual capacity in life. I invite you to start thinking about this from the moment this cacao 'dieta' starts to tickle your curiosity. Whether you choose to participate or not, this awareness can help you in your life.
During this 11-day journey we will enjoy a daily cup of pure ceremonial cacao (water and cacao only) combined with specific practices and exercises that aim to support you to deepen your connection with this sacred plant medicine. We will start on Saturday Jun 14th by opening our 'dieta' and our sacred space during a live online Opening Ceremony, followed by 9 days of sitting with cacao in solitude and receiving my daily prompts, videos and/or exercises and healing sessions. We meet online, live on day 8 to celebrate the Solstice. During the final ceremony on day 11 we come together to anchor in all the medicine, wisdom and healing and close the 'dieta'. There will be plenty of opportunity to share and ask questions throughout the 11 days.
My aim is to provide you with different ways of connecting with cacao so you can experiment with what works best for you. As with any of my work, everything is an invitation and the biggest gift you can give yourself is to listen to your intuition always.
Here is a loose overview of our eleven days together (subject to change slightly in alignment with energy of the group):

15th June - Day 2; Deepening into our Intentions and Connection with Mama Cacao
16th June - Day 3; The Medicine of our Voice
17th June - Day 4; Healing Session
18th June - Day 5; Movement Medicine
19th June - Day 6; Meditation
20th June - Day 7; Cacao and Nature
21st June - Day 8; Summer Solstice call & Healing Session
22nd June - Day 9; Offerings and Reflections
23rd June - Day 10; Integration tips
24th June - Day 11; Closing Ceremony (19:00 - 20:30 CET / 01:00 - 2:30am Phnom Penh / 05:00am - 06:30am Sydney, AUS)
This journey will be a mix of live sessions and pre-recorded videos, exercises and healing sessions that you can tune into yourself each day. Our live sessions will take place on Zoom or Google meet and will be recorded. All materials will be available to (re)watch in an online hub at your leisure. We will also have an online group (most likely on Whatsapp) in which we can consciously connect, share, ask questions, etc. whenever we're called to, while being mindful of usage of devices.
How to prepare for this cacao 'dieta':
- Stock up on ceremonial cacao (cacao is NOT included in the ticket price), we will be drinking between 25-35 grams per day (you'll tune in intuitively) so you'll need around 385 grams of cacao (when you sign up I will share a list of recommended sources)
- Create a dedicated space for your altar where you can (ideally) sit in solitude every day
- Tune into your intention - the golden thread - for this journey
- Have a journal and pen ready to write down your daily reflections and insights
- Simplify your diet and eat as clean as possible. Refrain from consuming alcohol, dairy, caffeine and any other plant medicines during the 11 days (and ideally a few days before and after our time together). You may also wish to eat fully plant-based yet I empower you to do what suits your unique being.
- Tune into what you wish to remove from your life (as much as possible) during these 11 days; maybe social media, TV, certain relationships or something else that distracts you in life.
- Plan plenty of alone time (in nature) to allow Mama Cacao's medicine to fully anchor in and come through :)
- Schedule time in your agenda for the live ceremonies on Day 1, Day 8 and Day 11
What will be present during this 11-day dieta:
- A safe sacred space in which you can share what is alive in you
- Two live online ceremonies + a special Solstice gathering
- A digital space where you can find all the written and video/audio content, recipes, healing sessions, etc.
- A communication medium through which you can share what's alive in you and ask questions (most likely a whatsapp group)
- Preparation and Integration tips
- Support throughout your journey from me
