Ecstatic Dance Journey in de prachtige Maria Kapel 'Onder de Bogen'. Deze bevindt zich net buiten Nijmegen, iets voorbij Heilig Landstichting aan de weg richting Groesbeek. We starten de avond met een bewegingsceremonie met live muziek improvisaties van Jonne en Jayanti. DJ Golmund is uit Spanje in Nederland en zal een fantastische Ecstatic Dance set voor ons gaan draaien.

Jonne en Jayanti verzorgen een bewegingsceremonie met live muziek improvisaties. Zij brengen op een natuurlijke manier iedereen tot dans en spelen tevens in op wat zich aandient in de groep.

His feel for the journey stems from my own adventurous spirit, always yearning for the wonderment of seeing a mountain glistening in the sun, or a lake on a windless day, or the Pleiades in the night sky for the first time. My main influence growing up was progressive rock, the great concept albums of yore, incredible journeys in their own right. Then progressive house at the turn of the millennium: those magnificent euphoric ramps and drops for ever and ever cascading into the future. And the spirit of Africa where I was born and raised, the drum which is the heartbeat of our bodily existence.
His choices are very eclectic as is part and parcel of the core qualities of a DJ, to bring you that personal melange you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. Always staying close to music with a core which reflects the pure energies embodied in us: crown, heart and hips, light and dark. Deep earth and volcanic eruptions, euphoric peaks in the stratosphere. And a cello to touch you gently. All genres and styles are building blocks or tools to use in the journey – this is the incredibly vast creative beauty of this medium.

Toelichting Ecstatic Dance
De oorsprong van het woord ecstatic komt uit het Grieks en betekent: voorbij het zelf.
Ecstatic Dance staat dan ook voor: je lijf uit de stase – uit je vaste patroon – dansen, wat als helend ervaren kan worden.
Door je mee te laten voeren met de muziek waar deze je ook brengt, worden gevoelens en emoties gestimuleerd om tot expressie te komen. Dit helpt om in contact te komen met je natuurlijke staat van zijn. Je ervaart een diepere connectie met de andere dansers om je heen en beslommeringen en spanningen van de dag laat je makkelijker achter je. In overgave zijn op de dansvloer. En als je dát op de dansvloer kan, dan kan je dat ook in je eigen leven makkelijker toepassen.
De avonden worden gestart met een introductie/ceremonie bijvoorbeeld in de vorm van een warming-up en oefeningen om af te stemmen op jezelf of in connectie te komen met andere dansers. Hierna gaat de Ecstatic Dance Journey beginnen, je wordt uitgenodigd om mee te stromen met de muziek van een Ecstatic Dance DJ. Deze reis gaat in waves van meditatieve verstilling naar expressieve ritmische muziek en weer terug, zodat iedere cel in jezelf wordt geactiveerd.
