Over dit evenement
In this powerful three-day course, Vanessa Brooks, founder of DAALUZ Oasis and long-time birth activist, takes you on a deep dive into the intersection of law, ethics, and birth activism. With over 35 years of experience as an independent midwife, Vanessa will share her journey as a midwife and birth activist, including her own persecution and the deep healing needed for birth workers facing the “witch wound.”
What You Will Learn:
• Vanessa’s story: Hear about Vanessa’s personal experience with persecution and how it has shaped her activism.
• The witch wound: Explore the historical trauma that many birth workers carry and how to heal it.
• Law and ethics: Gain a deep understanding of the current legal landscape surrounding birth and how it affects birth workers and families.
• Autonomy in birth: Learn about the importance of autonomy for both birth workers and couples as they navigate the birth journey together.
• Day 3 – Fun and forward-thinking: We will look at how we, as birth workers, can be integral in changing the birth culture for the next generation.
