Inipi ceremonie:
Inipi, dat je uitspreekt als "ee-nee-pee" is een Lakota woord dat zoveel betekent als "opnieuw leven". Het is een reinigings ceremonie van hergeboorte, verjonging en ontwaking. Door de Lakota wordt deze ceremonie ook wel 'het huis van het stenen volk' genoemd. De zweethut is een plek om samen te bidden, te helen, te leren.
Inipi, pronounced "ee-nee-pee" is a Lakota word that means "to live again." It is a cleansing ceremony of rebirth, rejuvenation and awakening. The Lakota also call this ceremony 'the house of the stone people'. The sweat lodge is a place to pray together, to heal, to learn.
'Wopila' ceremonie
Deze ceremonie gaat over dank zeggen. De mensen die vorig jaar tijdens eerdere ceremonie's met Steve op Dryw eiland of elders een 'petitioning' bij Chief Steve hebben gedaan en/of een persoonlijke heling hebben ontvangen maken na 1 jaar hulp / heling te hebben ontvangen Steve en zijn Spirithelpers vrij van die hulpvraag.
'Wopila' ceremony
This ceremony is about giving thanks. The people who have done a 'petitioning' with Chief Steve during previous ceremonies with Steve on Dryw Island or elsewhere last year and/or have received a personal healing release Steve and his Spirit helpers from that request for help after 1 year of receiving help / healing.

Deelname: gemengd (m/vr), kinderen (alle leeftijden) zijn van harte welkom! In de Lakota traditie zijn kinderen vanzelfsprekend aanwezig bij alle bijeenkomsten van de community, dus ook bij de ceremonies.
'Participation: mixed (m/f), children (all ages) are very welcome! In the Lakota tradition, children are naturally present at all meetings of the community, including the ceremonies.

Vergoeding:
Deelname is op basis van twee donaties.
Allereerst is er de bijdrage aan Dryw eiland van € 100,- (kostendekkende donatie) of € 120,- (extra donatie). Kinderen t/m 12 jaar deelname gratis, leeftijd 13 t/m 17 deelname € 60,-
Uit deze donaties worden alle kosten betaald, waaronder reis- en verblijfkosten die Steve maakt.
Door een ticket te kopen in de Hipsy shop wordt je deelname bevestigd.
Daarnaast vragen we je om een passende donatie in contant geld mee te nemen die je op de dag zelf aan Steve kunt aanbieden. Richtbedrag: € 100,- .
Het is goed om te weten dat Steve voor zijn levensonderhoud in de VS en het daar organiseren en financieren van de jaarlijkse Zonnedansceremonie voor zijn community volledig afhankelijk van de donaties die hij voor zijn goede werk mag ontvangen.
Wie voor het deelnemen ter plekke in contant geld wil doneren: als je organisator en gastheer André een e-mail bericht stuurt waarin je je deelname bevestigd laat hij de Hipsy boekingsapp je (ook per mail) de ticket(s) voor de dag sturen.
Compensation:
Participation is based on two donations. First of all, there is the contribution to Dryw Island of € 100,- (cost-covering donation) or € 120,- (extra donation). Children up to 12 years participation free, age 13 to 17 participation € 60,- All costs are paid from these donations, including travel and accommodation costs that Steve incurs. By buying a ticket in the Hipsy shop, your participation is confirmed.
In addition, we ask you to bring an appropriate cash donation that you can offer to Steve on the day. Indicative amount: € 100,-. It is good to know that Steve is completely dependent on the donations he receives for his good work for his livelihood in the US and the organization and financing of the annual Sun Dance Ceremony for his community there.
If you want to donate in cash on the spot for participation: if you send organizer and host André an e-mail message in which you confirm your participation, he will have the Hipsy booking app send you the ticket(s) for the day (also by e-mail).

DAG INDELING
Om 10.00 en 10:45 (twee afvaarten) worden de deelnemers opgehaald met een pontje dat vertrekt uit een haventje in Vinkeveen. Na ca. 15 minuten varen komen we aan op Dryw eiland. Na de ontvangst met koffie en thee vindt de Wopila/dank ceremonie plaats. Daarna gaan we samen aan het werk. We bedekken de zweethut met wollen dekens, zagen en hakken brandhout (w.o schaaldelen en aanmaakhoutjes) en helpen de vuurman met andere voorbereidingen, zoals de bouw van de vuurtafel voor het Stenen volk.
We doen de steenceremonie waarbij iedere deelnemer zijn of haar intenties of gebeden kan uitspreken en met de heilige tabak kan meegeven aan het Stenen volk.
Het ceremoniële vuur wordt ontstoken.
Daarna is er gelegenheid om strings met gebedszakjes te maken in de kleuren van Steve's altaar.
Het is ook mogelijk om even lekker te zwemmen (het zwemwater van de Vinkeveense plassen is uitstekend), te relaxen of wat te eten van de soep en het andere meegenomen voedsel voor de lunch (Potluck).
We verwachten in de loop van de middag (als de stenen voor de ceremonie heet genoeg zijn) de zweethut in te gaan.
In de zweethut bevinden we ons in de baarmoeder van moeder aarde.
Geen zweethut ceremonie is hetzelfde. Maar altijd gebeurt wat er móet gebeuren, wat nodig is. Er worden liederen gezongen, verhalen verteld, ervaringen gedeeld, emoties gedeeld, gebeden uitgesproken. Spirits manifesteren zich. Vaak mag er heling zijn. Het is niet te voorspellen hoe lang de ceremonie duurt. Dat kan tweeënhalf uur zijn. Of vier. Zo lang als nodig is. Het is ook niet te zeggen hoe warm of heet het binnen in de zweethut gaat worden. Zo warm of heet als nodig is. Watergieter Chief Steve staat erom bekend dat hij vaak milde hutten giet, dus dat hij het niet zo warm laat worden, zeker niet als er kleine kinderen bij zijn.
Voorop staat dat je je als deelnemer veilig en gehoord voelt. Het is altijd mogelijk om tussentijds de zweethut te verlaten, in overleg met de watergieter. In de loop van de avond, als het werk gedaan is, verlaten we de zweethut. Spiritueel en energetisch herboren, als een nieuwe, betere versie van onszelf. Een dip in het schone natuurwater na de hut is fijn.
Van het meegebrachte ceremoniële voedsel maken we een 'Spirit plate'. Deze wordt geofferd, als dank voor de bescherming en hulp van de Spirits. Daarna is de gezamenlijke feestmaaltijd. Na de maaltijd roken we de heilige pijp van Steve, de Çanupa Wakán. Daarna ruimen we samen alles op, doen de afwas enzovoort.
Het is onze intentie om rond 22.00 weer terug te varen naar de vaste wal.
DAILY SCHEDULE
At 10:00 AM and 10:45 AM (two departures) the participants are picked up by a little ferry that departs from a harbor in Vinkeveen. After about 15 minutes of sailing we arrive at Dryw island. After the reception with coffee and tea, the Wopila/thank ceremony will take place. Then we go to work together. We cover the sweat lodge with woolen blankets, saw and chop firewood (including shells and kindling) and help the fireman with other preparations, such as the construction of the fire table for the Stone People. We do the Stone ceremony where each participant can express his or her intentions or prayers and give them to the Stone people with the holy Tobacco. The ceremonial fire is lit. Then there is an opportunity to make thongs with Prayer ties in the colors of Steve's altar. It is also possible to go for a swim (the swimming water of the Vinkeveense plassen is excellent), relax or eat some of the soup and the other food brought for lunch (Potluck). We expect to enter the Sweat lodge in the course of the afternoon (when the stones for the ceremony are hot enough). In the Sweat lodge we find ourselves in the womb of Mother Earth. No sweat lodge ceremony is the same. But always what has to be done, what is needed, happens. Songs are sung, stories are told, experiences are shared, emotions are shared, prayers are spoken. Spirits manifest.
Often there may be healing. It is impossible to predict how long the ceremony will last. That can be one and a half hours. Or three. As long as necessary. It is also impossible to say how warm or hot it will be inside the sweat lodge. As warm or hot as needed. Chief Steve is known for leading mild huts, so he doesn't let it get so hot, especially when there are small children present.
The most important thing is that you feel safe and heard as a participant. It is always possible to leave the Sweat lodge in the meantime, in consultation with Chief Steve. In the course of the evening, when the work is done, we leave the Sweat lodge. Spiritually and energetically reborn, as a new, better version of ourselves.
A dip in the clean natural water after the hut is nice. We make a 'Spirit plate' from the ceremonial food we brought along. This is offered as a thank you for the protection and help of the Spirits. Then there is the joint festive meal. After the meal we smoke Steve's holy pipe, the Çanupa Wakán.
Then we clean up everything together, do the dishes and so on. It is our intention to sail back to the mainland around 9:00 PM
