Afro Connect Events is a series of vibrant Afro dance workshops. Each session is led by a professional dancer from East Africa!
Afro Connect Events is a vibrant series of Afro dance workshops celebrating movement, culture, and connection. Each session is led by a dancer from Tanzania, bringing authentic energy and knowledge straight from East Africa.
We explore a mix of traditional African dances and modern Afro styles, creating a dynamic experience that’s open to all levels. It’s not just about dance, it’s about feeling the roots, the rhythm, and the story behind every movement.
Each workshop also includes a locally inspired homemade lunch, making space to connect, share, and build community beyond the dance floor.
The sessions are led by Salim Teddy Washington, a professional dancer from Arusha, Tanzania. With experience in breakdance, Afro dance, traditional Tanzanian styles, hip-hop fusion, and contemporary dance, he blends cultural heritage with modern expression. He has toured internationally with DanceTeam Africa, teaches children in Arusha, and works as a judge and host at local dance battles.
Afro Connect Events is more than a workshop, it’s a growing community where culture, music, and people come together through movement.
